Our public schools cannot afford Washington’s No Child Left Behind. I feel our schools need to function without federal money. As long as Ohio accepts money for our school system the government will choose the agenda. The agenda is for our teachers to teach our children how to pass a proficiency test. How are our children benefitting?
Ohio schools are in desperate need of  a debt management course in the curriculum. The management of finances are just as important as reading and writing. Without proper education this generation will go down the same path as the generations before them. As a society, we need to remove the government from our school system. Our teachers should be allowed to teach our children reading, writing, and arithmetic, instead of focusing on how to pass the profenciency test. No Child Left Behind is doing the opposite of what it was meant to do. It is only leaving our children behind.
